The Glenwood Chess Club staked its claim as an effective training ground for young up and coming talent. All of its junior high members had plus scores at the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) annual state championship in Bloomington, Illinois. The tournament was held on February 27th and 28th. The two day event was held on the campus of Illinois State University in the Bone Center. The 7 round event awarded individual and team prizes.
